Algorithmic Form Exploration

The exploration is driven from a single fundamental ruleset, which at its core has its basis in the golden ratio. The ruleset starts simply in 2D before we layer on complexity as we progress to 3D, solid geometry, and finally, mesh manipulations.

This was all achieved by coding in python and utilizing the Rhino’s API to call functions. We migrated the core mechanics to Grasshopper and continued to parameterize inputs and optimize outputs, and by shifting specific parameters we cold observe a wide variety of results. Meshes were further altered, by re-meshing algorithms or smoothing operations before finally being rendered in Keyshot. The whole process was explained and the final results displayed in a book.
