The map is made out of 10 layers of birch plywood stained in a gradient, framed in oak, and topped off with a custom cut piece of glass. The terrain contour was made out of an aggregation of data from several online databases in order to get a high detail map of the area overlaid with local roads. View Project Osensjøen Topographical Map The exploration is driven from a single fundamental ruleset, which at its core has its basis in the golden ratio. The ruleset starts simply in 2D before we layer on complexity as we progress to 3D, solid geometry, and finally, mesh manipulations. View Project Connected Dots Algorithmic Form Exploration When designed in 1996, the model was too hard to be 3D modeled with current technology. It was therefore modeled with clay, which is why the original controller is not perfectly symmetrical (making me scratch my head after importing reference pictures). I figured this complex surface would be a perfect challenge to start learning T-splines. View Project N64 T-spline Modeling
